Janelle’s team entertained the 1st place team PK-35 today.  The game ended in a 2-2 tie.   The tie drops them back into 3rd place in the league standing at this point.

Janelle’s team won their game today, by a final score of 3-1.    The team is still in 2nd place in the league at this point, wiht a record of 8-1-1.

Janelle’s team was again victorious in their most recent game played last Thursday 6/2/11.  The final score was 4-1.  Janelle assisted on the final 3 goals, and received the gold medal award for the game.   They are still in 2nd place, 3 points out of first place.

Janelle’s team took on the league leading PK-35 team today, and were victorious 1-0.  Janelle got an assist on the goal, which was scored just 3 minutes into the game.  Their record now stands at 6-1-1, and they sit in 2nd place in the league.  They are currently 3 points out of first place, and have played 1 less game than the league leaders.

Janelle’s team came out on top 1-0 on today’s game.  They were on the road in Pori, Finland.  Their record now stands at 5-1-1 for the season.

Janelle’s team won their game today, putting them at 4-1-1 on the season.   They are still in 4th place, but now just 2 points out of 2nd.

Janelle’s team was victorious in game 5, raising their record to 3-1-1 on the season.  The team currently sits in 4th place in the 10 team league.

Janelle scored her first professional goal in this game.   It was the only goal for her team and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.  She is the player in red in the photo below, exchanging elbows with the opposition.   The season record is now 2-1-1

For some of Janelle’s games,  I have found a webcast of a sports magazine type recap of that week’s game.  This seems to be for only home games.   If you are interested in watching any of the webcasts, go to the to the website http://www.nyan.ax/aland24/.  The site will always have a video queued up in the webcast viewer.   Just below the viewer is a row of links.  Click the “Sport” link to get a listing of the 8 most recent sports videos.   Look for the words “Sportmagasinet”, “Aland United”, “AU”, or women’s soccer in the video image.  Click the desired image to launch that video in the viewer.    Also, just below the 8 videos, is a row of numbers.  Clicking any of the numbers will display 8 different videos.

Usually 1 or 2 minutes into the webcast, they are showing the highlights from the past week’s game.   The highlights last 4- 5 minutes.   We don’t understand most of what the commentators are saying, but it’s still exiting to see Janelle in action, and mom and dad do recognize when they say “Yanelle”.   She is number 7.

Also, it’s quite interesting to be on the other side of the language situation.  When any of the players or the head coach are speaking in English, the video has captions to translate to Swedish.

Janelle’s team was victorious in game 3, by a final score of 5-0.  I believe that she was credited with her first pro assist in this game.  This puts the season record at 2-1-0.   Game recaps below.
