Today Janelle’s team played another of the teams that is in the hunt for the league champoionship.   The came up short however, 2-0.    At this point, they are now in 4th place in the league standings.

Today Janelle’s team played one of the other teams that is in the hunt for the league championship.  Unfortunately, they came out on the short end of the 4-1 final score.   Janelle did score the lone goal for Aland United.    They are now in 3rd place as of today’s game.

The team traveled up the western coast of Finland to Pietarsaari for today’s game.   They came away with a 6-0 victory.  With the victory coupled with a loss by the first place team, Janelle’s team is now tied for first place in the league standings.   The top 4 teams in the league couldn’t be more bunched up, as only 1 point seperates them.    The team’s record stands at 14-3-2.

Janelle’s team was back on the home turf for this game.   This was the second of the two games that we got to watch while we were visiting Janelle.  It turned out to be a very special game for Janelle, as she scored her second goal of the year just 44 seconds into the game to give her team a quick lead that they never relinquished.    She also was chosen as the gold medal player of the game.   That was pretty neat for mom and dad to see.  As Jackson would say, “it was awesome!”   The final score was a 4-0 win.  With the win, the team moved back into 3rd place in the league standings, with a 13-3-2 record.

The team was on the road for a mid-week game in Kuopio, Finland.  This is the first of the two games that Julie and I got to see while we were visiting Janelle.   We are very grateful that the team allowed us to travel with them on this 2 day road trip.   It was a very enjoyable experience.   Janelle’s team scored two early goals and held on for a 3-1 victory.   With the win, they are still sitting in 4th place, with a record of 12-3-2.

The team was on the road in Pori, Finland for the game on 7/30 facing a team that always plays Aland United tough.  The trend continued today, with Janelle’s team dropping the game by a score of 2-0.   Even with the loss, the team is still sitting in 4th place with a record of 11-3-2.

The team was back in action on 7/23, posting a 5-0 victory.  They are still sitting in 4th place in the league with a record of 11-2-2

Janelle’s team played the first place team today, but were unable to knock off the league leaders, losing the game by a score of 3-1.  They now stand in 4th place with a record of 10-2-2

Janelle’s team traveled to northern Finland for today’s match.   They came out on top by a score of 3-1.  Their record is now 10-1-2, and still stand in 3rd place in the league just 2 points from 1st place.

After a 2 week break in the schedule, Janelle’ s team was back in action today.  They were victorious by a final score of 1-0.   They are in 3rd place in the league standings, 1 point out of 2nd place, and 2 points out of 1st place.
