Janelle’s team continued their preseason friendly games, playing 2 games over the weekend, as part of an elite tournament.  The played a team from Sweden on Friday, losing by a score of 4-1.  On Sunday, they were victorious over a team from Denmark, 4-2.  She scored a goal in both games, giving her 4 goals in the past 3 games.

Janelle’s team played today against Sirius from Denmark.   She scored the first two goals in a 4-1 win.   She is pictured in the photo below.

Hello everyone,  Janelle is back in Finland for another season of soccer in 2013.  This year was the earliest that she got to Finland, as she arrive there the first week of January.  They played a tournament of short games (40 minutes instead of 90 minutes) this past weekend.  The team did very well, garnering the gold medal for the tournament.

Janelle’s was mentioned the recap from today’s friendly game against the younger team on the island.    She scored a goal and she said they scored a couple goals off her corner kicks.   She is the centerpiece of the photo on the left.

Janelle’s team hosted their final home game of the season today.   They followed up last week’s tough loss with a very well played game, winning by a final score of 4-0.  Janelle didn’t figure in the scoring, but she slammed one off the goal post that ended up being put in the net by a teammate a few seconds later.  With one game remaining, they are locked into 4th place for the season, but only 6 points out of 1st.

After a couple weeks off, Janelle’s team returned to action today, facing the last of the three teams just ahead of them in the standings.   A win on the road would give them a good chance for a medal in the end of the season standings.   Unfortunately, the home team came out on top, 4-3.  Janelle assisted on the first goal, and nearly scored a little later.   Barring a series of upsets in the final two weeks, Janelle’s team will finish the season in 4th place.

Janelle’s team played their 3rd game in the past 8 days today.  They came out on top in this home game by a final score of 6-2.    They are still sitting in 4th place in the league standings, 3 points out of 1st place.     After a short break in the schedule, there will be only three more games in the league schedule when they resume play.

Today AU played their 2nd of 3 games in 8 days, on the road in Turku, Finland.    After a scoreless first half, AU erupted for 5 goals in the second half.    Janelle scored the team’s second goal of the game when she netted her 5th goal of the year.    The team sits in 4th place in the league standings, but just 3 points out of first place now.

Janelle’s team bounced back from their two game losing streak with a big 9-1 win at home today.   Janelle scored her 4th goal of the season early in the second half.    The team is currently in 4th place in the league standings.
