For some of Janelle’s games, I have found a webcast of a sports magazine type recap of that week’s game. This seems to be for only home games. If you are interested in watching any of the webcasts, go to the to the website http://www.nyan.ax/aland24/. The site will always have a video queued up in the webcast viewer. Just below the viewer is a row of links. Click the “Sport” link to get a listing of the 8 most recent sports videos. Look for the words “Sportmagasinet”, “Aland United”, “AU”, or women’s soccer in the video image. Click the desired image to launch that video in the viewer. Also, just below the 8 videos, is a row of numbers. Clicking any of the numbers will display 8 different videos.
Usually 1 or 2 minutes into the webcast, they are showing the highlights from the past week’s game. The highlights last 4- 5 minutes. We don’t understand most of what the commentators are saying, but it’s still exiting to see Janelle in action, and mom and dad do recognize when they say “Yanelle”. She is number 7.
Also, it’s quite interesting to be on the other side of the language situation. When any of the players or the head coach are speaking in English, the video has captions to translate to Swedish.
